The wind beneath the wings of our soccer players ...
on the left you can see Angie under the blue umbrella, and Xin Wei with the orange bag.
Amanda and Keith's mum are the banner bearers.

I was very delighted to see you guys at St. Andrew Cathedral yesterday.
Your presence changed the happy occasion into a joyful one for me.
I can't remember ever receiving a bouquet of flowers in my life.
Thanks for the sunflower, and the purple flowers as well as the little white ones. Seeing your smiling faces brought great cheer to me.
My cup runneth over.
Here's a quote from John Lennon to ponder over:
Life is just what happens to you,
While you're busy making other plans.
The grace of our Lord Jesus be with each of you.

Hey,
I've changed the blog song to a new 1, coz I think it's very very very relevant to what we go through everyday, and tells us to trust in Jesus Christ when we meet obstacles. We should never underestimate Jesus, even when others say that we shouldn't.
Relient K - For the moments I feel faint
Am I at the point of no improvement?
What of the death I still dwell in?
I try to excel, but I feel no movement.
Can I be free of this unreleasable sin?
[Chorus:]
Never underestimate my Jesus.
You're telling me that there's no hope.
I'm telling you your wrong.
Never underestimate my Jesus
When the world around you crumbles
He will be strong, He will be strong
I throw up my hands
"Oh, the impossibilities"
Frustrated and tired
Where do I go from here?
Now I'm searching for the confidence I've lost so willingly
Overcoming these obstacles is overcoming my fear
[Chorus]
I think I can't, I think I can't
But I think you can, I think you can
I think I can't, I think I can't
But I think you can, I think you can
Gather my insufficiencies and
place them in your hands, place them in your hands, place them in your hands
If you guys want the old song back juz tag and I'll change back the html.=)
Have a blessed week,
Kelvin

What happens if you don't go to fellowship or if you're late for fellowship?

Our dear mentor Joseph goes into hysterics.
So, people, PLEASE come for fellowship!!
Exams are but exams, they seek only to bust your brain cells with learning things you won't even use in the future.
Cheers, Kel =DDD

Two reflections to share:
1. When we offered to sing, a middle aged Chinese man suggested songs by Zhou Xuan, a very popular 1920s singing sensation. This man knew the songs that my father used to sing . This encounter brought back good memories of my earlier days listening to my father sing esp when taking his bath. Three worlds- this man's, my father's, and mine - come together in one moment on a lazy afternoon in a little corner of Singapore.
2. The walk through the wards, seeing the patients enduring different sorts of setbacks - from physical afflictions to alcoholic dependency to mental problems- helped me come to terms with my posting after my coming graduation. I was supposed to be seconded to the Synod doing Mission type work but when the current chaplain at All Saint's Nursing Home decided to leave in June, the handbrake was pulled and a U-turn was made. I have to fill her shoes. Initially I was upset, even angry. The Lord through the CIP helped me find peace. I was reminded that nobody was unimportant to God. Everyone, including the bedridden, matters to our heavenly Father.
A big thanks to the organizers and the very brave participants of this 'unhappenning' event.
Lee Ann Womack's song 'I hope you dance' contains lyrics worth sharing with you...
|
| I hope you never lose your sense of wonder You get your fill to eat But always keep that hunger May you never take one single breath for granted God forbid love ever leave you empty handed I hope you still feel small When you stand by the ocean Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Living might mean taking chances But they're worth taking Lovin' might be a mistake But it's worth making Don't let some hell bent heart Leave you bitter When you come close to selling out Reconsider Give the heavens above More than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance

Warm regards to all, in Christ,
